20 lbs GONE!

All week long I had been weighing myself and staying on track, until we had a potluck at work Friday.  I had a little bit of the things I wanted, but kept it to small portions and then I had one chocolate covered pretzel just to satisfy the cravings of all the sweet things I was seeing and resisting.  That night I didn't have much for dinner, but I wasn't that hungry either.  My strategy paid off, I lost almost 4 lbs (3.4 lbs to be exact).  This is the most I have lost since my first week when I lost 4 lbs.  I was so surprised and shocked especially since I thought it would only be a 1 lb loss.

Plus, I finally hit my 20 lb loss goal that I was slowly trying to get to.  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After this great feeling I then had two Christmas meals with tons of good food and lots of snacking goodies.  It was a struggle.  So we will see what the scale brings this Saturday.  Eeek!

Turkey Bacon

I tried the Butterball turkey bacon.  I tasted it alone and didn't care for it, when used on my BLT it was fine, but not much flavor.  This could be used in recipes, but definitely not to be eaten alone.  I know a lot of people who like turkey bacon so I think I need to try other brands.

Week 10 and I lost 2 more lbs for a total of 17 lbs.  Seems like it is taking me forever to get to my 20 lb loss goal.  But still losing as normal and was excited it was a full 2 lb loss last Saturday.

WW Week 9 - 5% lost

Saturday was my week 9 weigh in at Weight Watchers.  I have lost a total of 15 lbs (5%) since October 8th so I earned bling.  They call your name out at the meeting, give you a big congratulations, cheer for you and give you this award.  Then they ask what you've been doing to be successful.  These meetings are truly like weight loss therapy.

I've been tracking everything I eat on the Weight Watchers app.  This is super important.  I've completely changed the way I eat.  I'm eating more fruits and vegetables.  I'm watching my portion sizes.  I'm making smarter choices.  I used this as an example in the meeting.  Friday night, we went to have dinner (keep in mind this is the night before weigh in so I have to be super careful what I eat).  Dave ordered a huge plate of nachos smothered in pulled pork and queso and hot wings.  I really wanted what he was having, but I knew I'd blow what I'd been working towards all week.  So I was a good girl and ordered a turkey sandwich with turkey noodle soup.  I ate the sandwich, a bit of the soup as I didn't much care for it and I snagged about 5 of his nachos when he was done and had ate most of the toppings.  As you can see this paid off as I lost 2 lbs this week.

Then Saturday I allowed myself to have some mozzarella sticks and pizza as that is my splurge (but not overdoing it day).  Even though I had this, I stayed within my points for the day.  Again it is just a matter of watching what you eat.

Lit'l Smokies

This journey for me has been about taking food that I love and finding ways to make it healthier.  We love lit'l smokies and I can have them however, the typical beef lit'l smokies that we would normally get only allows me to have about 4 of them.  I thought they have to have a healthier option so I did some looking and found that they make turkey lit'l smokies and I can have about 10 of those (enough to satisfy me).

I was hoping that they tasted as good and we were both pleasantly surprised, they taste almost identical.  You can taste a slight difference, but it wasn't a bad taste.  I loved them and Dave was perfectly fine with them.

With KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce these were 6 WW points for 10 smokies.
